Referring to my Despatch No. 254 of 3rd ultimo, I have the honour to state that Mr. F. Loder left for England by the P. & O. S.S. "Borneo" on 7th instant, accompanied by two attendants who were handed a letter to the Superintendent, Dorset County Asylum, giving a history of the case. I telegraphed to Your Lordship to this effect today.

2. All expenses have been defrayed by the Shanghai Municipal Council.

3. I enclose copy of declaration by Mrs. Loder, in which she states that she has no objection to her husband being sent to England and that she is not in a position to contribute to his maintenance.
